Omschrijving

• Elegante, droge rode wijn met fijne tannines. Het bewijs dat men ook in de Loire top Pinot Noir kan maken. De wijngaard waarvan deze wijn afkomstig is, situeert zich op de meest prestigieuze heuvel van de gemeente Chavignol ‘Cul de Beaujeu’. Matthieu Delaporte is de enige wijnbouwer die ervoor opteert om hier een rode Sancerre te maken
• 12 maanden gerijpt in eikenhouten vaten (25% op nieuwe eik, 25% op één jaar oude eik, 25% op 2 jaar oude eik en 25% op 3 jaar oude vaten)
• Alcoholpercentage: 13%
• Gastronomie: past heel goed bij rood vlees zoals een entrecote, steak of côte de boeuf (côte à l’os), boeuf à la bourguinonne stoofpot, lamsrôti, wildgrechten zoals haas en hert(enkalf). Ook aan te raden bij diverse kazen zoals een Cremeux de Jura, Brie, Brillat-Savarin, Camembert, Chaource, Reblochon, Délice de Pommard. Uiteraard is deze wijn ook ‘gewoon’ lekker als genietwijn
• Toekomst:  nu mooi op dronk, zal  nog mooi evolueren (2023)
• Regio: Chavignol – Sancerre – Loire
• Wijnmagazine ‘Decanter’ geeft deze wijn een uitmuntende score van 18,50/20 met als commentaren:
  • ‘Matthieu Delaporte has made the finest red Sancerre I’ve ever tried: superb black cherry fruit, lifted acidity and fine tannins’ (Decanter December 2015) ;
  • ‘This is a Pinot Noir  made for pleasure. It has beguiling vegetal notes and a great combination of leafy fruit, silky tannins and understated oak. It has the concentration and acidity to age well and shows a real sweetness of fruit and an individual character’ (Decanter December 2016)
•  Het gereputeerde Amerikaanse tijdschrift ‘Wine Enthusiast’ houdt het op een score van 93/100: ‘The steep, stony slope of the Cul de Beaujeu has produced this firmly structured wine that has rich plum and berry fruits.
